A powerful winter storm system brought storms, rain and snow to North Texas on Christmas Day.
Although the snow melted Wednesday on roads in Dallas and Tarrant Counties, patches of ice from Tuesday's storm still linger on some area roadways in Denton and Collin Counties, and northward toward the Red River. Any slush that remains will freeze solid again overnight, creating potentially hazardous driving conditions.
Some fog may form overnight, especially in those areas where snow and slush remains on the ground.

OVERNIGHT: Partly cloudy and very cold again. Patchy fog, mainly north of Dallas and Fort Worth.Low: 22. Wind: E 5 mph.
THURSDAY: Partly cloudy and cool. High: 49. Wind: S 10-15 mph.
FRIDAY: Fog likely in the morning. Mostly cloudy and cool. There will be a chance for showers, but mainly east of Dallas. Low: 39. High: 47. Wind: Shifting NW 10-20 mph.
SATURDAY: Sunny and cool. Low: 26. High: 48. Wind: N 10-15 mph.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny and cool. Low: 27. High: 53. Wind: SE 10 mph.
NEW YEARS EVE: Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance for showers. Low: 37. High: 50. Wind: SE 10 mph.
NEW YEARS DAY: A few showers may linger in the morning. Then partly cloudy, breezy and chilly. Low: 34. High: 45. Wind: N 10-20 mph.
WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy and cool. Low: 33. High: 52. Wind: N 10-15 mph.
